Inês Sapeta Dias

Born in Amadora in 1980. She has been working between filmmaking, programming and research, exploring themes such as landscape, the archive, the city and the blind spots of cinematic representation. She has directed two films (Winter’s portrait of a burnt landscape, 2008; The house is the ruin of a house, 2025) and co-directed with Luisa Homem the first episode (“cartography of the discarded”) of the series Atlas of an amateur cinema (2023). She has created projects such as TRAÇA [moth], a home movie showcase, what is the archive? or Veredas – travelling throughout Portuguese cinema (to name the most recent). She teaches at two art schools, has edited several books, and is regularly invited to write, give open classes or make public presentations on films or cinema themes in various contexts.
