The most recent short film by the director will have its world premiere in the parallel and independent section of the Venice International Film Festival.

“KORA” KORA outlines the stories of refugee women living in Portugal. They all carry their past in their body and words, as well as their loved ones in portraits. From these memories we access the intimate and political gaze of those who reconstruct (their) present.

Two Terratreme Productions at IndieLisboa

The 21st edition of the Indielisboa – International Film Festival has just started and Terratreme has two productions in the program:

“When the Land Runs Away” by Frederico Lobo

Just a few days after its world premiere at the Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes, “When the Land Runs Away” now has its national premiere at Indielisboa on May 29th at 7:00 PM in the Emílio Rui Vilar Auditorium at Culturgest, in the national short film competition, with a second screening on May 31st at 9:45 PM, this time at Culturgest’s Small Auditorium.

“Atlas of an Amateur Cinema” by Luísa Homem and Inês Sapeta Dias

An exploration of the archives of a different kind of cinema, a cinema that is rarely discussed. The premiere of this production is part of the non-competitive section Director’s Cut, whose selection of films delves into the memory of cinema as its main inspiration and raw material, films that work with cinematic visual heritage. It will screen at the Cinemateca, on May 29th at 7:00 PM.

World Premiere of “KINDERGARTEN” by Susana Nascimento Duarte

🎥 On May 2nd at 9:30 pm, don’t miss another session of 𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗘-𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗜𝗔𝗦 at the Portuguese Cinematheque – Museum of Cinema.

▪️ KINDERGARTEN by Susana Nascimento Duarte (World Premiere)

▪️ DOMY + AILUCHA: KETS STUFF! by Ico Costa

▪️ OCTOBER IS OVER by Karen Akerman and Miguel Seabra Lopes

👉 The session will be attended by the director Susana Nascimento Duarte.

💬 “Three short films produced by Terratreme that explore cinema and its potential, from the universe, experience, and perspective of childhood and youth. In OCTOBER IS OVER, we follow a young filmmaker with a strong purpose: to make his own film. In DOMY + AILUCHA: KETS STUFF! , a small film camera passes through the hands of two young friends, who film various scenes of their daily life in Mozambique, “recording adolescence, work, play, wandering, singing and dancing, desire”. In KINDERGARTEN, we carefully observe the faces of several children in a school, we hear the dialogues of daily school life, an action that is constantly interrupted by another time, which follows a different rhythm, the rhythm of childhood affections and emotions.”
