BULAKNA Awarded at FIDMarseille

We are very happy to announce that the documentary 𝗕𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗞𝗡𝗔, by Leonor Noivo, received the Renaud Victor Prize yesterday at FIDMarseille.

About the Renaud Victor Prize:
“With the agreement and support of the Interregional Directorate of Prison Services PACA–Corsica, the Marseille Prison Center, and the CNC, the association Lieux Fictifs and FIDMarseille carry out a joint initiative that brings the festival event to the Les Baumettes prison facility in Marseille, in real time with the rest of the festival.

A selection of around ten films from the competition is shown to an audience made up of incarcerated participants and volunteers. Those who follow the entire program may, if they wish, become jury members and take part in selecting the winning film. Each film is presented and discussed with the support of FID staff and, whenever possible, in the presence of the filmmakers themselves.”

When the Land Runs Away awarded at Laceno d’Oro International Film Festival

We’re very pleased to announce that WHEN THE LAND RUNS AWAY, by Frederico Lobo, was the winner of the “Gli occhi sulla città 2024” award at Laceno d’Oro International Film Festival.

Great news that we share along with the jury’s kind and sensitive words about the film:

“Quando a Terra Foge’ is awarded Best Film for its amazing ability to convey, through an intensely cinematic language, the essence of the place where it was created and, above all, the deep relationship between humans and nature. […] Each frame, like a painting, and its evocative soundscape summon a sense of suspended time, allowing us to rediscover a deeper dimension of existence. […] is a poetic experience not measured in minutes but in emotions: a work that makes us feel the largeness of a breath transcending its format through its pictorial vision.”

Congratulations to the team!

The film was coproduced by Terratreme Filmes and Rua Escura Filmes.

KORA at Giornate degli Autori section at the Venice Festival

𝙆𝙊𝙍𝘼, by Cláudia Varejão in the Official Selection of the 𝙂𝙞𝙤𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙜𝙡𝙞 𝘼𝙪𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙞 at Venice Film Festival!

The most recent short film by the director will have its world premiere in the parallel and independent section of the Venice International Film Festival.

“KORA” KORA outlines the stories of refugee women living in Portugal. They all carry their past in their body and words, as well as their loved ones in portraits. From these memories we access the intimate and political gaze of those who reconstruct (their) present.

The film is a Terratreme production and will be part of the 81st edition of Venice, taking place from August 28th to September 7th.
