Terratreme at Indie Lisboa ’18

At the 2018 Indie Lisbon festival, the movie Ordinary Time from TERRATREME Filmes and Cinema deFacto directed by Susana Nobre will be showcased in the national competition feature films segment.

The movie In a Foreign Country from TERRATREME Filmes and Pela Madrugada directed by Miguel Seabra Lopes and Karen Akerman, will be inserted in the national competition short film segment.

In Focus: TERRATREME

The films AMA-SAN by Cláudia Varejão, ORDINARY TIME by Susana Nobre, CAMPO by Tiago Hespanha, DJON ÁFRICA by Filipa Reis & João Miller Guerra and ALVA by Ico Costa are part of In Focus program dedicated to Terratreme latest works by ICA – Institute of Contemporary Arts in London.
All the films are commercial releases in the UK and the screenings will be presented by the directors.

FICUNAM 2020

The films RAPOSA by Leonor Noivo and CAMPO by Tiago Hespanha will be exhibited at Atlas section of Festival Internacional de Cine UNAM, that will be held between March 5 – 15 in Mexico City, Mexico.

ALVA – Commercial Release

Alva, a primeira longa-metragem de ficção de Ico Costa, vai estrear nos cinemas portugueses no dia 16 de janeiro 2020.

Depois da estreia absoluta no Festival Internacional de Cinema de Roterdão e da exibição em vários festivais internacionais, este filme coproduzido pela Terratreme, Oublaum (PT), Un Puma (AR) e La Belle Affaire Productions (FR), foi rodado no interior de Portugal, nas margens do rio que lhe dá nome.

Em Alva seguimos a história de Henrique, um homem solitário, que foge para a floresta depois de ter cometido um crime. O espectador vê-se transportado para um espaço de solidão e de fuga, onde as imagens serenas da natureza se confundem com a inquietação do protagonista. A desertificação do interior, a violência nos meios rurais, o divórcio e a separação dos filhos são alguns dos temas abordados pelo filme.

Ico Costa realizou as curtas-metragens Libhaketi (2012), Quatro Horas Descalço (2012), Corrente (2013), Antero (2014) e Nyo Vweta Nafta (2017), e o documentário Barulho, Eclipse (2017). O seu trabalho tem vindo a ser exibido em vários festivais, como Semana da Crítica em Cannes, Locarno, Roterdão, Roma, Cinéma du Réel, New Directors/New Films, Oberhausen, Jihlava, Vila do Conde, IndieLisboa, DocLisboa, entre muitos outros. Alva é a sua primeira longa de ficção.

MILLA – Commercial Release

Milla, the new film by Valérie Massadian, premieres on August 30th.
The film premiered at the Locarno Festival, where it won the Special Jury Prize and the Public Prize.

In Portugal, the premiere was at DocLisboa where it was awarded the Lisbon City Grand Prize for Best Film in the International Competition.
Valérie Massadian received the award for Best Director at FICUNAM in Mexico and the film also won the Cinemateca Gran Premio de Lanzarote and the Camira Prize for Best Film at the Entrevues de Belfort Festival.
